Elise Bernal

Elise is an impact investor and start-up advisor whose mission it is to improve the health of the planet and its inhabitants through a shift to more sustainable and humane global solutions, particularly in sustainable agriculture. She is passionate about food innovation, nudibranchs, applied biotech, octopuses, animal welfare, and plant-based everything.

Elise works with private foundations such as the Greenbaum Foundation, and has 10 years experience working with U.S. and European family offices and investment funds. Prior to that she worked for biotechnology and engineering companies in the U.S., Germany and France.  

She serves on the boards and finance committees of several non-profit organizations, and most recently joined the Advisory Board of the newly-formed Aquatic Life Institute. 

Elise received her MBA in Health Care Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a BA in Economics from Wellesley College.
