Supply Chain

Aquatic Life Institute (ALI) actively works at various stages of the global seafood supply chain, improving animal welfare standards throughout the entire system. We are progressively broadening our impact along the seafood supply chain, systematically addressing and bridging animal welfare gaps at every stage of production and supply.

The corporate campaign, launched in 2023, is a focal point of ALI's supply chain work. Through this campaign, we identify and connect with corporations who are likely to take action on aquatic animal welfare. Acting as a "solutions broker", we help them improve welfare standards, craft public commitments, and set measurable targets. Ultimately, corporations will implement new welfare policies and monitor their supply chain regularly, leading to consumers purchasing higher welfare aquatic animal products.

We are very proud of our supply chains and the leading standards they uphold. We are constantly striving to improve the welfare of all the fish and shellfish we source, not just the farmed ones! There is much to do, and we value our partnerships and collaborations with innovation partners like Aquatic Life Institute to tackle the status quo and address some of the real challenges faced by fishermen and farmers around the world. There is nothing more important to us than animal welfare, so we intend to leave no 'shell' unturned!
